French car maker, Renault that showcased the Captur at the Geneva auto show back in 2011 has now teased the compact SUV, which seems to have taken its design inspiration from the same car. Slated to preview at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March 2013, the compact SUV is based on the company's flagship crossover, the Clio and has been codenamed J87. If you look at the timing of teasing the upcoming SUV, it has happened right after a day when the Peugeot revealed its 2008 compact SUV, indicating that Renault too is ready with yet another SUV after Duster to compete with rivals.
Renault's counterpart for the Nissan Juke, the new SUV will be previewed the coming Friday, January 11 before appearing at the 2013 Geneva motor show. Except competing with the Nissan Juke, the Captur has been possibly aimed at various upcoming models including Holden Trax and Ford EcoSport.
However, the company hasn't revealed more about the car, but as per the word on the street the Captur's production version will possibly have the new Clio's engine line up and might be offered with a four-wheel drive option.
For more details on the same, stay tuned to CarDekho, we will bring you the detailed review of the car on Friday. Cheers!
