Renault to launch five new cars in India

The Indian auto industry is enjoying the attention from all the auto biggies across the globe.After witnessing a successful 2010 Indian auto industry is now the target of most of the auto giants who are showing interest in investing money in this thriving market. Renault the French auto maker has pulled its socks to establish themselves in the domestic auto mobile sector by introducing five new cars before the end of this year.

There is a buzz around that, Renault is establishing a Rs 4,500 crore auto mobile production unit at Oragadam with Nissan the Japanese partner and is all set to target 70,000 cars for the next four to five years. As per the report,Marc Nassif Managing Director, Renault India's stated that before 2015 on the industrial front the French auto company intends to invest Rs 4,500 crore to establish a production plant with a production capacity of 400,000 units annually. A close source revealed that Renault plans hold 5 per cent of the Indian market share by 2020 and also looks froward to launch five new car models.

The company strategies to set a sales target of 70,000 cars by 2014. The French auto mobile maker is concentrating to sell its cars keeping in mind the middle class and upper middle class as its target market. It is heard that Renault will come with its car models like Renault Fluence the first sedan car model, next to follow the line in October will be Renault Koleos high end compact SUV. It is also being speculated that Renault wishes to increase its dealers portfolio as it will add seven to ten more dealerships in India probably by the mid of 2011 and the company expects to raise it to 70 by 2012.

The auto company plans to be the 11th biggest auto market in the domestic auto market. Currently the French car manufacturer has no car model in India but soon expects to enjoy the growing momentum.
