Renault to roll out four new cars by 2012

The French car manufacturer Renault, which has recently made a solo entry in India, with Renault Fluence is all set to take the Indian auto industry by storm. This solo launch has given confidence to the firm and it is ready with 4 brand new car models that will be launched by the end of year 2012. This information was revealed by an executive of Renault India. Out of the fresh models that will be launched by Renault next year, one is Renault Koleos, which falls under SUV category and is expected to be revealed around October 2011.

Renault Koleos will be another addition to the list of SUVs in India. As per the VP of sales and marketing department of Renault India, Mr. Len Curran, Renault is looking forward to around 2.5% of market share in India by the year of 2013. India is amongst the major premeditated countries for the firm. And to survive in the Indian car market, the French automaker needs to put in a lot of effort and should grab around 5% of market share in the long run, only then Renault will be able to sustain in India.

Renault is also planning to launch the light commercial vehicles or also known as LCVs in India soon. Amongst the cars in India, Nissan could be the tough competition to Renault. Ironically, Renault is sharing the manufacturing plant in Chennai with Nissan. The manufacturing facility is however, a joint venture by both the firms. The plant keeps the capacity of manufacturing around 4 Lakh cars per annum, and a whopping Rs. 5,000 Crore investment has already been made. Currently, Renault has only 14 dealers in India, and this number will soon rise-up to 40 dealers by the end of 2011 and 100 till 2012.
