Renault India has unveiled the updated Duster at the on-going 2016 Indian Auto Expo. Besides the improved aesthetic, the highlight of the updated Duster is the option of an automatic transmission with diesel. As of now, Hyundai Creta is the only compact SUV to offer an automatic option with diesel.
Speaking of the mechanical upgrades, the 110 PS now comes with an option of Renault’s Easy-R (AMT) automatic transmission. The AMT is based on the Duster's 6-Speed manual unit. Apart from this, Duster continues to come with all other mechanical options including AWD.
Adding to the stylistic changes, the front fascia gets new twin-slat grille with Renault's logo. The new grille is flanked by redesigned dual barrel headlamps. The front bumper also received subtle changes. All the alterations to the front profile add a new character to it. Renault has done minimalist changes to the side profile of the vehicle. It rides on new alloys and the roof rails will now get Duster branding. Coming to the rear profile, taillamps have received new graphics and features LED lighting.
Coming to its interiors, the 2016 Duster comes with a new central console with auto AC and a slightly spruced up instrument cluster. The vehicle has carried forward features like the 7-inch Renault's MediaNav touchscreen infotainment system with updates along with all the substantial changes Renault did with Duster last year.
