Skoda has divulged that it cumulatively sold 3,829 cars in August 2021 of which the Kushaq accounted for over seventy percent (approximately 2,700 units). The carmaker further stated that its year-on-year total sales figure has seen a growth by a whopping 282 percent compared to August 2020 when only 1,003 cars were sold.
The carmaker has also revealed that its July 2021 sales figure stood at 3,080 units, thereby giving a boost of 24 percent to the month-on-month sales.
Of course, the Kushaq has had a big role to play in Skoda’s sales achievement in the last month. Back in August, the carmaker had revealed that the compact SUV was enduring an average wait time of two months, having garnered 6,000 bookings already.
As per two different RTO documents, Skoda is planning to introduce an automatic transmission on the Kushaq’s entry-level Active trim. It is also looking to offer the mid-spec Ambition with the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, with the possibility of both the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic) gearboxes.
