Skoda Rapid Sport Concept to be Showcased at 2013 Worthersee Tuning Event

The Czech Car manufacturer, Skoda has announced that it will showcase the Rapid Sport Concept at the 2013 Worthersee tuning event. With the sporty version of its compact sedan Skoda Rapid, the company will once again demonstrate the versatility of its model range. The 32nd edition of the legendary Volkswagen tuning event will take place from May 8 to May 12, 2013. The event is organised every year and around 200,000 tuning fans meet in the Austrian town of Reifnitz for the Volkswagen event.

“The GTI Meeting is a Mecca for all tuning and motorsports fans,” says Skoda's chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “With the Skoda Rapid SPORT, we will put a decidedly dynamic and emotional version of our new compact sedan Rapid on display for the first time. This way, we once again demonstrate the competence of our team with regard to sporty vehicles and motorsports,” adds Werner Eichhorn, Skoda board member for sales and marketing.

The Skoda Rapid Sport will show off the power of the Skoda design as well as the Rapid's inherent  possibilities. The result for the same is the vehicle full of sportiness and dynamism. The compact sedan gets metallic colors 'Corrida Red' and 'Steel Gray'. 19" alloy wheels are added to the Rapid Sport. The front of the vehicle impresses with spoilers and a powerful air intake in the skirt. handsomely positioned fenders and massive rocker panels highlight the looks of the vehicle. Voluminous bumper and two integrated exhaust tailpipes at the rear further enhances the sporty nature of the car. The rear lights in the ‘C’-shaped design typical for the brand show a contrasting color. A circumferential carbon frame completes the bottom section. The sporty layout continues in the interior of the car, for example with a sport-type steering wheel, Recaro seats and illuminated door sills.

Since 2012, the Skoda Rapid has been sold in the European markets as the company's seventh model series. The compact sedan fills the gap between the Skoda's Fabia hatch and the new Octavia. The vehicle offers outstanding spaciousness and a lot of room for five passengers and their luggage. Since its market launch, the Rapid has won number of awards. The car has received the best possible rating of five stars in the Euro-NCAP crash test.
