The compact sedan scored a perfect 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests
ŠKODA has always been known for its safety and the carmaker has proven it from time to time. Whether it was the Kodiaq or Octavia, all of the carmaker’s models have had a lot of focus on safety. With its MQB-A0-IN platform, ŠKODA made the KUSHAQ the safest SUV in the country, and using this platform, SLAVIA has done the same for its segment, by securing a perfect 5-star safety rating in the more stringent Global NCAP crash tests.
The Perfect Score
What does this 5-star rating mean for the SLAVIA? Let me explain. There are two major tests conducted for any car in Global NCAP: Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection. In the former, SLAVIA got 29.71 points out of 34, and in the latter, the compact sedan scored 42 points out of 49, both of which resulted in 5-star safety ratings, making the SLAVIA the safest compact sedan in India.
In the frontal impact test, the driver and passenger get “good” protection on their head and legs, and even in the side pole test, the driver’s head is properly protected. This level of protection keeps the occupants of SLAVIA safe in case of an impact. Even in the case of a child occupant, the heads of both the three-year-old child and the 18-month-old child were prevented from any exposure during the frontal impact and provided full protection.
It Remains Stable
The one thing that’s checked after these crash tests is how the bodyshell integrity is. If it's rated stable, it can withstand further damage; and if it's rated unstable, then it obviously can not. And it was no surprise that the bodyshell integrity of the ŠKODA SLAVIA was stable at the end of these crash tests.
This means that even after these crash tests at 64kmph, the SLAVIA has the capability to undergo even more damage and still keep the passengers safe. This can only be achieved by having a platform that meets global standards, the use of strong materials and impeccable engineering.
Safe From The Base
Even if we keep the crash test scores aside, the SLAVIA is still a safe car from the very start. The compact sedan offers ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system, multi-collision braking, tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), three-point seatbelts for all passengers and ISOFIX child seat anchors from the base-spec variants.
This level of safety equipment gives you a worry-less driving experience no matter which variant of the ŠKODA SLAVIA you buy. You also get up to six airbags and hill hold control in the higher-end version of the compact sedan.
No Compromises
Safety is not all that SLAVIA has to offer. Its driving experience is very enjoyable as well. The sedan cruises with comfort and handles itself well at high speeds. Combine this drivability with the safety features it offers, and you have yourself a car that can give you an amazing driving experience while keeping you safe at every turn.
With all these safety features on offer, SLAVIA has made it a priority to keep ŠKODA’s legacy in check, and yes, just like the KUSHAQ, SLAVIA has maintained that legacy and achieved the goal of becoming the safest compact sedan in the country.
