Skoda Yeti facelift images are out and the company will unveil this compact SUV’s facelift version at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. However for India, the company is focusing on the Octavia first. Post which it will start working on the Yeti facelift. The Skoda Yeti will be coming in India in the next few months after the official launch of the Octavia.
We have heard that the company is planning to introduce smaller engines on this compact SUV. From what we understand from our sources, it could get the 1.5-litre or the 1.6-litre diesel to make it competitive with the Duster and there is a good possibility to see the 1.2-litre TSI mill too.
Though, we aren’t sure on how people will react to this, but this is what some of our sources confirmed. As the Chakan plant is already assembling this 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine for the Polo GT TSI. One the Cross Polo is available with the 1.5-litre diesel, we can expect the same mill to propel the Yeti too. This will help Skoda to cut down the cost for the Yeti and get it in the Duster/Terrano price territory. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol, well maybe with the seven-speed DSG it could make a difference and also make it highly competitive too.
The other upgrade that we will expect from the Skoda brand is for the Superb, as it will also get the facelift.
