Skoda to launch facelift version of Yeti in July

Skoda, the Czech manufacturer is looking forward to launch the facelift version of its crossover SUV Yeti in the month of July. The upgraded version of SUV was already unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo where it showed cosmetic changes on its exterior profile along with a refurbished interior.

As shown at the Delhi Auto Expo, it is expected that the auto-maker will launch two different variants of the face-lifted Skoda- Yeti and Yeti Outdoor. Yeti carries a design much suited for the urban customers while the Yeti Outdoor features design and qualities apt for an off-roading enthusiast. The exterior profile gets new attractive headlamps, bold grille, body coloured bumper, revised bonnet design; the logo now moves closer to the bonnet while at the rear, the SUV gets spectacular LED taillamp cluster. Additionally, the Skoda Yeti Outdoor gets side black plastic protective mouldings which add more to its adventurous look.

Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a new three spoke steering wheel along with up-gradation in music system and new plush seat fabrics. The car also features cruise control, key-less entry with push button start, electrically adjustable driver seat and new tyre pressure monitoring system. The infotainment system includes 6.5 LCD TFT colour display with touch-screen controls and audio player. The car features ample space for five persons to sit comfortably. The knee and legroom is also sufficient even when the first row seat is extended to maximum. The boot space is also large enough to pack a weekend getaway luggage.

Driving the Yeti is Volkswagen's powerful 2.0-litre TDI engine which is tuned in a way to produce two power outputs. The front-wheel drive variant churns a power of 108bhp and is mated to five speed manual transmission while the four-wheel drive model develops a power of 138bhp and is coupled to six speed manual transmission. The SUV still lacks the automatic DSG gearbox. In terms of safety of its passengers, the Czech manufacturer loaded the SUV with features such as HHC (Hill Hold Control), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) and HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistant). The top of the line variant Elegance also gets dual front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags for front and rear row passengers.

Moreover, in order to give more to its existing customer base, the automaker has launched a month long comprehensive summer check-up camp that will last till 31st May 2014.
