Skoda Yeti in India by 2010

Automobile company Skoda had recently announced its price tag for Skoda Yeti in Europe as the car is anticiapted to hit the markets in Europe by September this year. The car is headed for India as well and will be displayed at the upcoming India Auto Show 2010 in January next year.

Skoda Yeti is priced at Rs.10.93 lakhs in Europe and the car is expected to be priced between Rs. 10-14 lakhs in India as well.

Skoda Yeti is a compact (wheel base 2,578 mm), progressive and smart SUV based on ‘Simply Clever’ solutions, such as the VarioFlex rear seat system known from the Roomster. The vehicle's dimensions (length 4,223 mm, width 1,793 mm, height 1,691 mm) make it possible to easily enlarge the luggage compartment to as much as 1,760 litres.

Skoda will most probably manufacture its SUV cross-over model at its Aurangabad plant where the CKD units for the model will be imported. The Indian model may be powered with the same 1.2L petrol and 2.0L diesel engine that currently drives the European model.

The company is all set to do a feasibility study shortly and based on its research it will be able to announce further details about the Indian model and its expected date of launch next year.
