Skoda Yeti showcased at the Hyderabd International Auto Show

Skoda Auto India, displayed its much awaited SUV; Skoda Yeti for the first time in Hyderabad at the Hyderabad International Auto Show 2010. The highly agile Yeti is compact, attractively styled with excellent handling characteristics and is bound to create a stir in this segment with the potential of having a cult following. The 4×4 variants are also characterized by outstanding off-road capability and excellent traction. These, coupled with superb emission values and low fuel consumption meet the needs of a socially acceptable SUV.

The all new Skoda Yeti will be rolled-out in the Indian market with a 2.0L Diesel engine joined with a manual transmission gearbox. It is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 10 to14 lakh. The company, however is yet to disclose the exact pricing details of this model for the Indian market. The Yeti model will feature state-of-the-art technology with clever solutions and comfort features incorporated from the Skoda design.

From the point of view of passengers safety, Yeti will be among the safest car in its price segment and will come equipped with all new generation safety features like ABS (anti-lock braking system) and multiple air-bags. The other major attraction of this SUV will be 4x4 Haldex drive, corner function fog lamps, hill hold control, automatic off road program and the 1st Vario-flex seating system.

The absence of a strong competitor in this price segment in India will certainly give an extra-edge to Skoda Yeti. However, the top end variant such as the Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio are expected to give considerable competition to this style-obsessed SUV.
