Special Edition Models for Fiat 500 series on its 5th Birthday

It’s time to party for Fiat Motors as Fiat 500 series turned 5 a few days back. To add to the joy of the company, Fiat Germany announced a birthday edition “Happy Birthday” for the 500 and 500c. This series has been in news recently, first with the Fiat 500L Minivan making its way to Italy and Europe and more recently, that India might be blessed with the compact crossover, Fiat 500X.

The hype around the Fiat 500X seems to be building up, even though slowly at present. But since a break-through model from Fiat, especially for India, has been awaited for quite some time now and the auto fraternity here has eyes set on the compact crossover ever since the speculations have hit the market.

Coming back to the birthday baby, the birthday edition for the modern Fiat 500 will be enhanced by stylish looks and comfort features like vintage style wheel covers and white finish for the door mirrors and the roof antenna, a bespoke key fob and two exclusive colors for this edition. The “Happy Birthday” will also have the standard Air conditioning, electric windows, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, chrome trim and MP3 / CD-Radio. Under the hood, a 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 2-cylinder 0.9-litre turbocharged TwinAir will be available.

The former is capable of delivering 68bhp and the latter is rated at 84bhp. Following the German Fiat would be the other European markets. The price for the hardtop model is €12,900, which is approximately Rs. 8.85 lakh and the open top version is tagged at €15,400 which works out to be close to Rs. 10.56 lakh.
