VW has added a couple of cosmetic changes to the Taigun in the First Anniversary edition and given the SUV a sportier look. It comes with a “1st” anniversary badging on the exterior and interiors. Other changes in the special edition include body-coloured door handles, door-edge protectors, window visors and aluminum pedals carried over from the Performance Line.
A dash of black has been given to the Taigun with black ORVM caps, black roof foil and black graphics on the C-pillar. The special edition is offered in three colour options, including the new “Rising Blue” taken from the Virtus, alongside the existing Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red.
Under the hood, there are no changes. It comes with a 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine (making 115PS and 178Nm) mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. VW offers the Performance Line trim of the SUV with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine (making 150PS and 250Nm) paired with a six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed DSG transmission.
The SUV is priced between Rs 11.39 lakh and 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom) and rivals the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor.
