SsangYong launches its first compact SUV Tivoli in South Korea

Mahindra group owned motor company SsangYong has launched its first compact SUV called Tivoli in South Korea. The SUV has been developed after an extensive research of four years and with it path breaking design and pricing it could be a game changer in the markets it enters.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, said, “The Tivoli marks a significant new milestone in the growing partnership between Mahindra and SsangYong. This new SUV epitomizes the spirit of ‘Korea Can Do’ and reflects Ssangyong’s rich legacy of innovation in product development. We are confident that the Tivoli is poised to drive SsangYong’s growth in the future”.

Further adding Mr. Pawan Goenka Executive Director, M&M Ltd, said, “The launch of Tivoli marks a significant milestone as this is the first all new product post SsangYong’s association with Mahindra. It is a proud moment in our journey together which has been one of mutual admiration, respect and learning. I am sure that with the launch of Tivoli, SsangYong will straddle the entire product spectrum in the SUV segment with diverse offerings at distinctive price points and value”.

The Tivoli features a new developed engine called the e-XGi 160 that delivers maximum power of 126 PS and 157Nm of torque. It is available in both automatic and manual transmission. All trims of the Tivoli come with the smart steer function that allows driver to choose from any of the three steering modes – normal, comfort and sport. Dual dash panels in the engine bay bring down the NVH and cancel out most of the noise entering the cabin. The interiors of the Tivoli are spacious and it comes with some serious boot space of 423 litres.

Safety has been kept at top priority while designing the Tivoli and it comes with big sized disc brakes that allow quick and efficient braking; it also comes with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) along with day time running LED lights.

The vehicle also has a lot of first included ventilated driver seats, heated steering wheel, heated second row seats, obstacle detection system with six sensors, automatic washer, and automatic hazard lights. With such power packed features we hope the Tivoli soon makes its way to India.  Pricing for the SsangYong Tivoli ranges between Rs 9.31 lac to Rs 13.53 lac.
