The Tata Harrier has received a new mid-spec XMS variant to slot between the XM and XT trims. It is available with both manual and automatic transmission options. The prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) are as follows:

The Harrier XMS adds features like a panoramic sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, eight speakers and a rear parking camera over the XM trim. All these features come at a premium of Rs 1.1 lakh over the XM.
The XT variant, which is only Rs 20,000 pricier, further adds alloy wheels, cruise control, auto headlamps, and auto AC to the feature list but no sunroof. However, the XT is not available with an automatic transmission, making the XMAS, which is more affordable than the XTA+ by almost Rs 1 lakh, the true attractive automatic proposition with a sunroof.
The Harrier is only available with a 170PS 2-litre diesel engine with the choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. It is one of the few diesel-only models in the mid-size SUV segment.
The Tata Harrier rivals the likes of the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 and Jeep Compass. Its pricing also puts it in contention with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq.
