Tata Motors global sales grow by 21% at 90,294 units in Dec '10

Tata Motors, today announced a spectacular hike of 21 per cent observed by the company in its December sales last year. The above hike was the combined outcome of the company's global sales including Jaguar Land Rover as well. Considering the combined sales of the fiscal year April 2010 to Dec 2010, the company registered a hike of 29 per cent amounting to 768,834 units as against the same period in year 2009 to 2010.

The major reason behind the prominent success was the sales of its passenger vehicles Tata Hispano Carrocera range, Tata Daewoo and Tata which registered a sale figure of 48,168 units in 2010 December. This equals to a growth of 29 per cent whereas the combined sales amount to 362,677 units again showing growth of 29 per cent.

The passenger vehicles sold by the company were 42,126 units in December 2010 which is equal to a hike of remarkable 13 per cent whereas the combined sales equals to 406,157 units which amounts to a hike of 30 per cent.

Jaguar Land Rover sales globally showed a figure of 21,353 units in December 2010 which does not make a commendable growth but maintains a 1 per cent hike against the same period year before. Taking Jaguar sales in consideration, it sold total of 4,332 units which was a scroll down of 10 per cent whereas Land Rover models showed sales of 17,021 units, a hike of 4 per cent. The combined sales of Jaguar Land Rover amounts to 175,442 units for this fiscal which is a straight jump of 28 per cent. The combined sales of Jaguar is 42,952 units, a hike of 18 per cent and that of Land Rover is 132,490 units, a jump of 32 per cent.

The Fiat models sold by the company amount to 20,773 units which is a straight jump of 28 per cent from that of last year whereas the combined sales figure show 230,715 units sale with a jump of 31 per cent.
