Tata Motor's Jaguar Land Rover seeks China partner

Tata Motors's Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) is searching for potential collaborator in the promising arena of Chinese automobile market. With China having a potential automobile market, most car making companies are planning to enter the Chinese borders. As per a study, Chinese Automobile market is going to invest more than 5 billion pounds ($8.2 billion) for the development of new cars over the next five years.

With the idea of making Tata Motors Land Rover to compete with high-end rivals like BMW, Tata Motors is keen on finding the right partner in China. Furthermore, Germany’s BMW acquired highly elevated sales figures in first quarter sales due to the increase in demand for its cars from China.

Tata Motors Jaguar expects to gain advantage from ever-increasing demand for luxury brands, mostly in rising economies such China, where the company is thinking of establishing a plant for manufacturing high-end cars like Tata Motors Land Rover etc.

Carl-Peter Forster, the Chief Executive of Tata Motors said that for starting a manufacturing unit in China, having a local partner is mandatory. And for this purpose they are having continuous talks with local partners.

He also said that their mind-set is to create a strong joint venture which is going to include engineering, manufacturing along with sales and marketing divisions. And the search for favorable partner is going on.

German carmakers like BMW, Volkswagen and Daimler have already created fortunes via rise of demand in China and in other developing countries. This is indirectly creating a competitive atmosphere among other automobile giants searching for a potential market across the globe.
