With the sales pattern emerging for various car companies for the month of November, Tata Motors has observed a decline of 13 per cent. The monthly comparison is done with respect to the corresponding month last year.
The Indian carmaker was able to sell only 10,517 units in November as compared to 12,021 units last year. This 13% decline is mainly because of the poor performance of cars like Safari, Safari Storme, Aria, Sumo and the Movus in the SUV segment. The combined sales for the mentioned cars amounts to just 1,345 units and witnessed a decline of 22%. The scenario for sedans is even grimmer as the company was able to sell only 3,351 units in this category as compared to 5,920 units last year which is a decline of 43%.

Hatchbacks brought some good news for the company as the sales in the mentioned category grew by 33%. While Tata was able to sell 5,821 hatchbacks in November this year, they sold 4,376 units in November 2014. As far as annual sales are concerned, company has witnessed a 10 per cent growth till November this year. With Zica yet to be launched, they can expect the sales to rise even further. The recent launch of ‘more powerful’ Safari is likely to assist the brand in achieving this goal.
