Tata Motors sold 39,623 vehicles in July

Home grown auto major Tata motors registered 23 percent sales drop in July. The total sales including the brand's commercial and passenger vehicles in the month, stood at 39,623 vehicles, as compared to 51,549 vehicles sold in the corresponding time last year. Tata's domestic sales witnessed 25 percent decline at 35,256 units, over 47,272 units sold in July last year. While the cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal remained at 1,49,597 vehicles, lower by 27 percent, against 2,04,744 units, sold last year.
Tata's sales of passenger vehicles declined by 15 percent, and the tally stood at 9,167 units, in comparison to 10,824 vehicles sold in the same time last year. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in the month were 6,703 units, lower by 22 percent over 8,546 vehicles sold in July previous year. While the UV range, comprising Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture showed 8 percent rise at 2,464 units, over 2,278 units, sold in the same period previous year. Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal remained at 33,749 units, down by 26 percent over last year. Cumulative sales of the compact car line-up witnessed 30 percent dip, including Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range this fiscal was 25,221 cars. The UV range Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales stood at 8,528 units, 8 drop over 9,313 units, sold last year.
The company exported 4,367 vehicles the month of July 2014, registered a growth of 2 percent compared to 4,277 vehicles in July 2013. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal stood at 14,594 units, lower by 7 percent over 15,712 units, over 2013.
