Tata Nano bags gold prize at Edison Awards 2010

Tata Nano, India's cheapest car at present and an automobile that has brought the Indian automobile scenario on world map recently bagged the Gold prize at the Edison Awards 2010. Edison awards are known to be America's innovation that would write a new chapter in America's innovation history. Nano received the award in the Transport category and was attributed to the car's unique design and price.

Tata nano launched in the year 2008 has been in news ever since its first announcement. It is not only the cheapest Indian car but also the cheapest car in the world priced at US$ 2,500. In the range Nano offers amazing features and is quite adaptable to varied city lives. All this has drawn tremendous attention of the entire world at the Indian automobile market.

The good news came for Tata Motors at the time when the company was facing a blurt on the reputation due to two incidents of Nano catching fire. The reason behind the incidents is supposed to be the inefficient cooling system of Nano's engine. Fortunately, there were no casualties in both the incidents. Tata motors is investigating strong and hard on the exact reason behind the accidents.

Edison Awards as the name suggests are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931), the father of inventions. Launched in the year 1987, the awards focus on awarding the excellence in the development and launch of new products. Edison, with his extraordinary brilliance and unique development methods achieved to garner 1,093 U.S. Edison is a worldwide household name when it comes to inventions.
