Tata Motors, worlds renowned car maker launched its dream car Tata Nano for Indian market back in year 2008. At the time of launch the car was loaded with preorders so much that the company had to apply the draw scheme for its product. And now two years down the line, Tata Nano was able to manage a sale of just 509 units in India where Mercedes sells out 500 cars a month. This shows the worst possible situation the dream car can be in. Tata Nano was able to mark spectacular sale of 10,000 units for the month for June, July, and August. But the situation took a U turn when news of Tata Nano catching fire became the talk of town. 3 Nano cars, two in Mumbai and one in Delhi caught fire and burst into flames. Tata Motors took all essential steps to compensate the big blunder but the efforts didn't work out quite well looking at the November sales of 509 units.

Tata Motors offered its Tata Nano users with three technical upgrades which is made free of cost with a view to make the car safe and secure. This upgradings include replacement of starter motor, additional fuse in the electrical system and catalytic converter. According to Ravindra Bhagat, the Nano user who suffered this burn down said that though he was completely compensated for the car but now his faith in the company has diminished.

Tata Nano was made to target motorcyclists and other class that cannot afford a decent four-wheeler and it was named as the 'Peoples car & but the concept seems ending with a bad note. People comment that security issues is not the only reason for the fallen demand of the car but basic problem arises with the fact that car is not able to place itself aptly in Indian markets. What so ever the reason is, but the most awaited and praised car from Tata stable is not meeting the big dream set by Ratan Tata.

Dear Readers Respectfully Indians are heavy on bias and low on research.TATA and BATA were Icons and have left a stamp in the Indian psyche. Indians flocked to Indica 1999 the World was aghast - if memory serves me right one lac full price bookings before launch !! Indica launched- failed 90,000 owners in Dec 2000 were in tears- Indica V2- Indica Xeta- Indica Vista- Vista Quadrjet ..... still struggling- good taxi- poor car. Manza same story- very sad that NANo is repeating history. Public buys so we get this half baked trials ! Please go for trusted brands- never buy new launch in India- Wait for the asli kahani to unfold. My heart goes out to the nano owners and their dreams - This Only Happens In India !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please wait and watch- sabar kah phal meetha hota hai. Best Wishes KJS Sandhu
