After a brief lull, it seems the storm is back again for Tata Nano, arguably the cheapest car in the world. According to reports, another Tata Nano went up in flames on June 1stin Vadodra, Gujarat. If reports are to be believed, the engine of Tata’s small car caught fire, damaging the front seat of the car completely. However, no reports have emerged of anybody getting hurt in the incident.

However, after a thorough scrutiny of the car’s design and production, Tata Motors had not found any fault with the car last year.

The test results conducted by Tata Motors on Tata Nano last year suggested that the exhaust and the electrical system of the car needed ‘optional’ security features, and did not pose a risk as such. However, with the latest fire incident, it remains to be seen how Tata Motors reacts to it.
