Tata Safari Storm codenamed Tata Merlin, was recently spotted during a photo shoot, and that was basically when it was assumed that Tata might adopt a new name for the new Tata Safari based SUV, Tata Safari Storm or simply Tata Storm. Ever since, the spied SUV spiralled speculations that Tata Motors might either unveil or launch the Tata Storm SUV at the 2012 Auto Expo. Now, there are more rumours from various sources that the domestic car manufacturer might after all bring the Tata Storm for a launch after all.

But, will Tata truly bring the Storm SUV for a launch and if yes, what will be the Tata Safari Storm price? These are the questions that still attract a lot of speculation. For over a decade, Tata Motors had managed to sell its flagship model Tata Safari without a single dent in sales without offering much on the name of makeover. All the same, the Tata India has decided to give a major facelift this time pinning a new name for the upcoming SUV. Although carrying the same Tata Safari 140 Bhp 2.2 L DICOR engine under the hood, a thorough change can be observed along the exteriors and the interiors of the car. The grille and the frontal appearance of the age old Tata Safari has gone for a toss replacing it with a redesigned grille and a new pair of headlamps.

With a faux wood inserts, the interiors of the SUV look all the more charming than Tata Safari. However, with the idea to get the Tata Storm price right or for its own very reason, the home-grown car manufacturer has not included the steering mounted audio controls or any in-vogue features like in its potentially closest competitor Mahindra XUV500. All the same, the spruced up neatly laid out central console, instrument panel and dashboard will make up for the deficits for the moment if the price is right. So, let’s wait until the Auto Expo 2012 to see how the situation is going to unfold.
