The North American international auto show, better known as Detroit Motor Show is here again. Ford revealed the 2012 Ford Fusion sedan at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. As soon as the covers were pulled off from the sedan, a huge applause gave a clue that this sedan is surely going to rock the global market as soon as it will be launched officially. The 2013 Ford Fusion sedan has a striking eye-catchy design, which helped it to win the ‘Best in Show’ award then and there. This new Ford Fusion sedan will be named as Mondeo for European auto markets and probably for Indian car market too. 2013 Ford Fusion is basically a D-segment sedan, which would lock horns with cars like the new Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

However, it is still unclear, whether 2013 Ford Fusion aka Ford Mondeo will be launched in India or not, but car fanatics would surely remember that Ford India used to sell a car named Ford Mondeo in the country a couple of years ago. Even though, the car was a delight to drive and gave an excellent performance, it failed to find buyers in the market as at that point of time; the market was dominated by Honda Accord sedan. This in turn restricted Ford from importing Mondeo to Indian car market and since then, Ford didn’t step in the D-segment of the India car bazaar. With the latest 2013 Ford Fusion, there might be a slight possibility that Ford India will bring in this new luxury sedan to the country. 2012 Ford Fusion is basically an amalgamation of European Mondeo and American Ford Fusion, which helped the firm to make the stunning design altogether. Under the hood, 2013 Ford Fusion is expected to feature a new range of EcoBoost turbo petrol engines that would be sold in the North American market. On the other hand, the Europe version will see TDCI diesel engine under the skin. Apparently, Ford Motors is also planning to do a hybrid version of Fusion that will be identified as Energi and is expected to launch by the year 2013.
