Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) India has already started taking booking of the 11th generation Corolla Altis, however, the vehicle will be officially available from May. On the other hand, the Japanese major displayed new variants of the Corolla Altis at the ongoing 35th Bangkok Motor Show. The company displayed Toyota Corolla Altis TRD Sportivo, Toyota Corolla Altis ESport, Toyota Corolla CNG along with the stock Corolla Altis. Along with the Corolla iterations, the manufacturer also displayed refreshed Fortuner TRD Sportivo and Innova with other Bangkok oriented products.
Toyota Corolla Altis ESport
Toyota Thailand has already added ESport in the Corolla Altis fleet; the car made its Bangkok debut at the ongoing Auto Show. The ESport in which 'E' stands for 'Excellence', sports subtle changes like slightly different 'Gun Metal' strips in the grille, body kits and a diffuser along with the existing LED projector lamps. The vehicle boost all black leather wrapped interiors with black leather seats and is kitted similar like the top of the line Corolla Altis. The ESport variant sits above all the variants and the sedan will cost in the vicinity of Rs 16-17 lakh (Thai currency conversion). Toyota might launch this version in India while the possibilities are less. The car is powered by the same 1.8 Dual VVT-i coupled with an AT and steering mounted paddle shifters.
Toyota Corolla Altis TRD Sportivo
Corolla Altis gets Toyota's performance hand TRD sportivo treatment, the Corolla Altis TRD Sportivo. Displayed at the Toyota stand at the Show, and like its siblings in India – Fortuner TRD Sportivo and Etios TRD Sportivo, Corolla will also come in TRD Sportivo avatar. Expect the car to land around the festive season to woo customers. The Corolla Altis TRD Sportivo sports bumper and side skirts and a large boot lid spoiler (killer looking!) and rear diffusers just like the ESport. The car will be powered by the same engines, the 1.8 liter Dual VVT-i and 1.4 liter D-4D Diesel turbo-charged and inter-cooled. The car rides on hot looking twin spoke machined alloys dressed up on Toyo tyres.
Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo
The company displayed subtly refreshed Fortuner TRD Sportivo at the Motor Show, expect these changes to carry forward in the Indian counterpart around the festivity in fall of 2014. The SUV boost new bumper enhancements with integrated day time LED's, new side foot step and rear bumper enhancements. The SUV drives on snazzy new machined alloys with TRD badging. The updates will lift the SUV, but the next-generation is expected in 2015-2016 as the car is already 5 years old since it debut in India in 2009. Mechanically, the SUV remains same.
Toyota Innova
Toyota also displayed the new-Innova with body add-ons at the Bangkok Motor Show, Innova recently had received a thorough facelift – TKM might introduce these updates in the MPV later this year. The changes include, complete body skirts, that include bumper extensions with integrated day time LED's, side body skits and rear bumper extension and roof spoiler. Powering the MPV is the same diesel unit. Despite being a decade old model, Innova still rules the segment. The MPV is entitled to receive a through upgrade (nex-gen) within next-two years to keep it competitive.
