Toyota has revealed a new GR Sport edition of the Fortuner in Indonesia. The new variant gets skin-deep updates and a few additional features over the regular Fortuner sold there.
The ‘GR’ badge can now be found on the bootlid and the side of the SUV. The lower part of the bumper has got a revised air dam, which replaces the faux skid plate found on the standard Fortuner. The alloy wheel design is new while the rear bumper has been tweaked.
Now, to the features. The GR Sport edition gets a new 9-inch touchscreen unit, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree monitor. Except for the wireless charging, you won’t find the other three features on the Fortuner sold in India.

The Fortuner GR Sport gets both petrol and diesel engines, however, only with a 4x2 drivetrain. Like the Legender variant, the GR Sport only ups the SUV’s cosmetic appeal but doesn’t do much in terms of performance.
We expect the Fortuner GR Sport to come to India in the future. Earlier, the carmaker offered the TRD edition here (which has been discontinued), and the GR Sport could be positioned similarly in the SUVs lineup.
