In what could be another setback for Toyota after the airbag fiasco, the Japanese carmaker has recalled around 6.5 million vehicles to fix a problem in the power window switch. Toyota has said that there is a chance for driver’s side power window master switch to short circuit and cause parts to overheat. The overheating could lead to the parts getting melted and lead to a fire.

The models announced for the recall include Yaris, Corolla, Camry and RAV4 sport utility vehicle produced between January 2005 and December 2010. Around 2.7 million vehicles in North America, 1.2 million in Europe and 600,000 in Japan are included in the recall. However, the company has said there hasn’t been any crashes caused by the glitch so far.
Toyota is currently the world’s largest carmaker but the regular recalls will surely raise doubts about the company’s quality aspect in building their cars.
