Toyota to resume production from Monday

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has agreed to lift the lock out on the production plant at Bigadi, Bangalore. Manufacturing of vehicles will resume from Monday, 24th March which was halted from 16th because of the dispute among the management and worker union over the salary increment.

The manufacturer resealed an official statement over the lift saying that “the Company has submitted to the Deputy Labour Commissioner that considering the inclination and in the interest of majority law abiding team members, we have decided to lift the lock out implemented vide notice dated March 16, 2014. Consequent to our above decision, the team members are welcome to resume work with effect from Monday, March 24, 2014 after signing a simple undertaking on good conduct. We wish to thank the Govt. of Karnataka for their valuable advice concerning our operation.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKMPL) is a joint venture between the Japaneses automaker Toyota and Indian Conglomerate Kirloskar Group, best known for its small and powerful irrigation pumps. The two production plant situated at the Bigadi and country side of Bangalore, has an annual capacity of manufacturing more than 3 lakh units with more than 6400 employee strength. Moreover, the management has suspended 17 workers for 'indiscipline and misconduct' at Bigadi production plant.
