Toyota has teased the front fascia of the Urban Cruiser that will distinguish it from the donor Maruti model.
-
It will be available to book online and with dealerships from August 22 for a nominal deposit of Rs 11,000.
-
The Urban Cruiser will get a different dual-tone dark brown upholstery as well.
-
It will get the same 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech for the automatic variants.

The Urban Cruiser will also come with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty which is better coverage than what is offered for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser, which is the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, is due to launch soon. The carmaker is yet to reveal the car in detail but it has announced that bookings for the new sub-4m SUV will begin on August 22.
Unlike the Glanza, which is a mirror copy of the Maruti Baleno except for the badges, Toyota has given the Urban Cruiser a tweaked front end to distinguish it from the donor vehicle. This new teaser image is the most we’ve seen of the Urban Cruiser’s front end with the larger two-slat grille. The front bumper will feature a different design. It has the same dual-chamber LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights as seen on the Vitara Brezza. The bumper design isn’t seen in detail yet but it will feature LED fog lamps.
While we haven’t yet seen the interior, Toyota has revealed that the Urban Cruiser will feature a dark brown dual-tone theme unlike the all-black theme of the Vitara Brezza. The feature list will be very similar though with auto AC, cruise control as well as touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Urban Cruiser will be powered by the Brezza’s 1.5-litre petrol engine (105PS/ 138Nm) with the choice of a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Maruti offering, the petrol-automatic version will also feature a mild-hybrid system for torque assist, idle start-stop and regenerative braking. Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty as standard compared to the Maruti’s 2-year/40,000km standard coverage.
Those interested in the Toyota Urban Cruiser can book one online or at a Toyota dealership from August 22 for a nominal amount of Rs 11,000. It is expected to be available in limited fully loaded variants priced between Rs 8.5 lakh and Rs 11.5 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
