The 2016 Bentley SUV that the company teased couple of weeks ago, was spied testing in the Alps, sporting disguised body panels. The British marque claims that the 2016 crossover SUV will be the "world’s most powerful and luxurious SUV". Based on the EXP 9 F SUV Concept, which was showcased at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The new SUV will be the third model beside Mulsanne and Continental range. Bentley SUV will rival with few of the high end products like Range Rover Sports, new BMW X7, planned Rolls Royce SUV in the rapidly growing premium SUV segment. The vehicle will be produced at the Bentley's facility at Crewe, Cheshire England.
Speaking of the design, the SUV will sport the similar Bently design, however as the vehicle was heavily disguised it is difficult to get the minor details. Though, the front and rear profiles are taken straight from the EXP 9 F SUV concept, which look like an amalgamation of Mulsanne and Continental.
At the outset, the SUV will sports huge rectangular chrome matrix grille. The bumper will feature large air vents to keep the bigger block cool, pumping out enormous power. The rear profile of the SUV will feature wrap-around tail lamps while the bumper features huge twin exhausts.
On the inside, as they are saying it will be the most luxurious SUV, the similar Bentley territory with modern add-ons will ensure it. The spied interior revel that the SUV is boasting a fully digital instrumentation cluster. Since Bentley is under VW umbrella, it might be similar to the one nowadays Audi has been using in new TT and its various upcoming models. The instrument cluster in Audi is powered by its GPU partner Nvidia.
The world's most powerful SUV will be sharing powertrains with the super cars in the Bentley stable. Reportedly, the SUV will be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 plus, it might also feature the flagship 6.0-liter W12. The 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 motor develops nearly 626bhp while the torque is a whopping 820Nm. The 6.0 liter will propel the mighty SUV in speeds excess of 300kmph! The 4.0 liter V8 on the other hand develops 512bhp with a torque of 680Nm. On the transmission front, the SUV is expected to be mated to a 8 speed automatic transmission, while it might also receive the VW's upcoming 10-speed gearbox.
