Volkswagen Group to achieve 10 million sales this year; over 9 million sold till date!

Ace German automotive group- Volkswagen sold over nine million vehicles from January to November for the first time ever. The group delivered 9.08 million vehicles to its customers worldwide, in comparison to 8.68 million vehicles during the same time last year, which is up by 4.6 percent. While particularly in the month of November, 8,34,800 vehicle were retailed, as against 828,900 units in November 2013.
"Deliveries by the Volkswagen Group remain on track during the last few weeks of the year. The ten million mark is within reach in spite of all the uncertainties in the global automotive sector," said Christian Klingler, Group Board Member.
The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand showed 2 percent growth at 5.59 million vehicles in January to November sales, whereas 5.48 million units were retailed during the same time previous year. The brand continued to develop well in the Asia-Pacific region, handing over 2.72 million units there, as against 2.46 million units there, up by 10.6 percent. The brand grew deliveries on the overall European market to 1.54 million units, as compared to 1.51 million units previous year.
Audi delivered 10.1 percent more vehicles at 1.59 million units to its customers worldwide in the period to November, as compared to 1.44 million units in 2013. The premium brand performed well in the Asia-Pacific region, handing over 6,08,100 vehicles to customers there, 16.4 percent more than 2013's 5,22,400 units. Audi delivered 1,96,800 vehicles in the North America region during the same period, an increase of 15.5 percent.
The luxury sports car manufacturer Porsche delivered a total of 1,69,200 vehicles from January to November, up against 1,47,300 vehicles from January to November. Demand was particularly high in the Asia-Pacific region, where 54,400 vehicles were delivered, up by 20.5 percent. While the overall European market, stood at 54,500 units at 46,000, up by 18.3 percent.
SKODA delivered 9,55,300 vehicles in the eleven-month period, as compared to 8,50,700 units, marginally above than the previous year. The Czech automaker handed over 6,34,900 vehicles to customers on the overall European market, an increase of 12.1 percent. SKODA also grew deliveries in the Asia-Pacific region, where 271,100 vehicles were handed over to customers.
SEAT sold 3,59,400 vehicles worldwide in the period to November, up by 10.7 percent. Deliveries on the overall European market increased to 3,02,300, units, as against 2,65,500 units in 2013. SEAT also grew deliveries in Germany, where the company handed over 78,500 vehicles to customers. While in Central and Eastern Europe, where 22,700 units were delivered, up by major 47.1 percent.
