Volkswagen has once again proven they are quite good at adapting to any market conditions and this is very evident in the move by VW to launch a VNG version of the VW Vento. That’s right; Volkswagen has been seen doing test runs of the Vento in what is clearly a CNG version of the car. This is no doubt a clever move by VW seeing as how Honda India is set to launch the Honda City sedan CNG in the coming weeks.

The Vento CNG will come with a CNG kit fitted and we expect it to be priced at around Rs. 40,000-50,000 more than the current petrol version of the Vento. What remains to be seen however, is if VW will give existing Vento petrol owners the chance to upgrade their Vento petrol to CNG. From what we can tell, the Vento CNG may well be out by this years end but with very little details coming in from Volkswagen, we shall have to wait and see what becomes of the Vento CNG. Till then stay tuned to CarDekho. Cheers!
