Volkswagen India has silently launched the Vento TSI via its official website. The company has updated its official site, providing all the information about the vehicle. Few days back, Volkswagen announced to retire all conventional engines and go fully turbocharged, while in India its two models still run on naturally aspirated engines. Vento TSI seems to be an initiative towards achieving its goal of becoming fully turbocharged.
Volkswagen has dropped the GT badging, which we already witnessed in Polo GT TSI, and used only 'TSI' badge. The car looks similar to that of regular one, TSI badge is the only visible difference between the two. Volkswagen Vento TSI gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out maximum power output of 103bhp at 5000rpm and 175Nm of top torque at 1500-4100rpm. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual-shift gearbox, and offers an impressive fuel economy of around 16kmpl. The Vento TSI is available in six different colours - Candy White, Pepper Gray, Terra Beige, Shadow Blue, Reflex Silver and Deep Black. The Vento TSI is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Vento TSI comes equipped with various features including a Galvanised body with 6 years of anti-perforation warranty, heat insulating glass for side and rear windows, chrome finish on trunk and fog light surrounds, leatherette seat covering, front disc brakes, height adjustable headrests for front and rear side, ABS with ESP, speed sensitive electronic power steering, central locking system with remote control and speed sensing auto door lock, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear parking sensors and others.
Volkswagen discontinued the Polo 1.6 petrol model earlier this year and introduced the Polo GT TSI. However, the company will sell both Vento TSI and Vento 1.6 petrol automatic and manual alongside.
