Volvo will not change in its India plan due to the ongoing global recession. Instead of this the company is planning to launch the SUV XC60 to India. This news was confirmed by Volvo car India Managing Director Paul de Voijs. Mr Voijs added that the company will increase dealers from 4 to 12 by the end of 2009. He said, Luxury segment is not facing much of a slowdown here and it will perform better than the general car market. We are potentially looking at bringing in the sports utility vehicle — XC60 to India.
