Spy shots of the Volkswagen Polo have been spotted several times by us, and now we get a confirmation of the Polo TSI launch being on the 25th of April. The VW Polo will get a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will produce close to 90bhp. This will be a more powerful version of the Polo petrol and will be the first petrol hatchback in India to get a turbocharger. This will help Volkswagen to introduce a more powerful version of the 1.2-litre and even avail the duty cut.
The company is likely to even introduce even an automatic version on the Polo with the 1.2-litre TSI petrol. This will make it the second hatchback in this segment to get an automatic after the i20. The Ritz automatic is also available, but it is a segment lower. Again, Volkswagen could have an upper hand with a lower displacement engine to avail the duty cut. Watch out this space, as we shall soon get the review of the new engine, on the 25th.
