VW's Audi Global Sales 1,77,950 in March; Growth of 4.4%

Volkswagen's luxury brand Audi for the month of March posted a growth of 4.4 percent as it retailed 1,77,950 cars and sport-utility vehicles. This is highest-ever growth recorded for any month in Audi’s history. In the first quarter, the automaker posted a record 6.1 per cent growth with sales of 4,38,250 cars. Ingolstadt based Audi saw a strong demand for the A3 compact series, the Q3 SUV and the A6 saloon.
Volkswagen’s another brand Skoda Auto also witnessed a growth of 7.2 per cent in the first quarter as the company sold 2,65,100 units. In March alone, Skoda Auto sold 1,02,100 cars, surpassing the 100,000 mark in monthly sales for the first time ever.
While in India, the company reported a growth of 22 per cent with the sales of 4,577 units compared to 3,741 units in March 2014.
In United States, Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) sold 30,025 units in March 2015. The automaker recorded a strong sales of all new Golf as in the March alone, the company retailed 4,643 units which marks the best March for Golf family in 15 years. The carmaker also retailed 11,005 units of Jetta, 535 units Touareg out of which 273 were of Clean Diesel TDI model and 2,300 units of Tiguan.
Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America on the sales of March said, “We are pleased to see the continued positive customer and media acceptance of the Golf family as evidenced by the number of prestigious awards the cars have won, including the most recent 2015 Edmunds Top Rated and Autobytel Car of the Year. We look forward to keeping this momentum going with the Golf-R and the introduction of the all-new Golf SportWagen,” said Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America.
