Will Fiat Viaggio see Indian Market Post Roll Out in China?

Fiat showcased its latest offering Viaggio during the Beijing Auto Show and ever since then the markets have been awaiting further announcements from Fiat Group regarding the launch and introduction of the sedan. Finally Fiat and Guangzhou Auto (GAC), their Chinese partner, rolled out the first series production for Viaggio on Thursday at their new plant situated in Changsha covering an area of 730,000 square meters.
This partnership is a Joint Venture worth 787 million USD. GAC is the 6th largest vehicle manufacturer of China whereas Fiat is known all over the world for their engines.
The sedan that will be rolled out in China in two trims of 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine, one which will deliver 120bhp and the second will be capable of churning out a power of 150bhp. The power house of Fiat Viaggio will either be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a dual dry clutch transmission (DDTC). As rumors have it, the companies plan to manufacture 140,000 units in a year.
The Fiat sedan built off the 2013 platform of the Dodge Dart, featuring tenuous design changes at the front and rear ends along with minor tweaks in the interior, is soon to hit the roads in China and expected is that the next country to see this sedan would be India.
