- Truth About Mahindra Bolero.Hello everyone, my name is Pavitpal Singh, a proud owner of Mahindra's old-style tough looking SUV, Bolero 2008 Di turbo model, as said earlier proud owner means a lot of pros as compare to cons that SUV contains. So what I like about it is that it's road presence though not much attractive as Fortuner but it has made its place in the hearts of many youngsters as it have looks like Thar but in the same time it can be used as a family vehicle and also it is used by our police force and is allotted to higher government officials so you can definitely feel like VIP on the road. In India, most important things that everyone consider while buying a car especially an SUV are like mileage, maintenance cost and insurance cost so the figures are mileage with AC is 16, Mileage without AC is 17. Service cost 6 to 10k. Insurance (2.5 cc) 10,000. Now talking about some pros of it 1. Muscular look with plenty of modification options. 2. Can take bad roads with ease. 3. Strong build quality. 4. Easy availability of spare parts at a cheap price anywhere in India. 5. Lowest maintenance cost in 7 seater SUV segment. 6. Lowest on road price in 7 seater SUV segment. Now why I've given it 3 stars, the cons are mentioned as follow 1. Poor riding experience on bad roads, a lot of body roll. 2. lot of engine noise. 3. Little bit corrosion problem. 4. No safety equipment. 5. Heavy clutch and brake with hard gears shift. 6. Simple interior design on door panels. At last, I want to say that it is value for money package.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo

- Mahindra Bolero ZLXI had bought my Mahindra Bolero ZLX in 2015 and so far I have driven around 77000 km. I have bought this car for 2 reasons. First, Mahindra Bolero is very easier to maintain as its parts are available everywhere and almost every mechanic can deal with it. Second, I am a die hard fan of Mercedes G Wagon, so bearing resembles, I went for it. Now, depending upon the price, the build quality is very poor. Joints, where the parts are joined are open. Suspension quality is very poor. I am shocked, Mahindra Bolero beings one of the oldest SUV in the market Mahindra has not brought up with the changes. Parts are cheap but is said that it also wears down very quickly. The major problem is of its bolt joints. Being an owner of such a vehicle always needs to have money in the pocket for running maintenance. Lastly, I am from Assam and the after sale service is very poor in the Mahindra dealer.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- The Rugged Warrior - BoleroI purchased a Mahindra Bolero SLE power plus in the year 2017 for my personal use. Basically, bolero comes to your mind when you are looking for something rugged but this new version powered with M-Hawk engine also brings in the missing smoothness. In Bihar and Jharkhand user prefer it more because of its great off-road capabilities. It's been a great experience especially when it comes to after-sales service of Mahindra but still, there are some points related to safety and comfort which can be reckoned. Especially in winters the missing heater really hurts. Overall it will conclude to be a good purchase and Value for money as the resale value of bolero is pretty good as compared to the other cars of the same segment Ravi RanjanRead MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- 11 Years of Driving BoleroWas looking for a perfect SUV while buying this in 2007 This beast came to my mind and it is amazing for all the sort of roads. Pros: Best Built Body Road clearance is amazing in seating position best mileage 15 on highways Power steering Power Windows Cons: Lacks the interior quality design and quality No remote lid fuel opener Service: Mahindra lacks in providing the best service even in authorized service centers costs are pretty high compared to other car services but this one is beast lasts long I have not faced any major problem till now.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- The Rough & Tough Beast :- Mahindra BoleroActually this beast came to our family around 11 years back. When my father came with this beast I was a kid only and got confused whether it is a car or jeep . Its pros were that it looks rough and tough and in reality it is a tough vehicle due to its high ground clearance and can cross any types of terrains whether its normal road , off road , snowy , rainy like I am serious any kind of terrains also its powerful motor is just incredible and you can hear turbo swirl too while revving it. Once the road was full of water up to thighs and the other cars stopped but bolero just waded that water like nothing and also I would like to mention that it was affordable too as we bought that for 5.4L. But as every coin has two faces it has certain cons too like lack of features like power windows , stereo system , alloy wheels , safety features like ABS and many more . Now talking about pickup its noise was an issue but the turbo lag in this vehicle was very well contained and hence its performance was just epic as its engine was full of torque and being a rear wheel drive it was also easy twirl in cities as well as highways . The mileage was normal in cities like 12-14 Kmpl but in highways it improved to about 16-17 Kmpl. We also swapped its original seats with the seats of Mahindra Xylo hence it was well comfortable but its stock seats were mediocre and also 7 people in it were able to sit in it with at most comfort. Now talking about overall visibility for that I have a word "MINDBLOWING" as when you are on driving seat you can see the hood as well as the sides which makes it tremendous to twirl around as you don't have to care about the distance between your car and other things. Coming on to suspension my beast was equipped with independent front suspension that were McPherson Struts and leaf springs at rear so ride quality was good too that it was able to absorb any kinds of bumps in its way. Braking performance is just phenomenal as it uses a bigger size disk and calliper and drum on rear wheel. For service we used to go to Mahindra service center for its regular maintenance, if you can believe its service cost was very very low as compared to other diesel vehicles as all the parts made were indigenous and if you can find any of its parts all over India that is also on 3rd party mechanics too. So the conclusion is that if you want a vehicle that is required by you to go on any terrain and want some features that Mahindra is offering with new generation Bolero close your eyes and just opt for this beast. Even I just learned how to drive on this vehicle so I have great emotions attached to it and I have also modified it a lot.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Sturdy Car with poor Service and qualityIf you can run your own workshop or repair your own car without depending on the service center. This is a great car definitely. To start with, the quality of the parts and body is very poor. The body started getting rust just by excessive moisture in the atmosphere and for a fact we live in Chennai where moisture is a hard commodity. Second, the service centers dont bat an eye for your complaints and irritatingly enough they are least bothered about your feedback and most of the time the car would still face the same issue after returning from the service. We are starting to face a mild drop in the car's mileage after 4 years of maintenance. The car is not a great vehicle for a highway cruise. It revs and begs to stop or slow down above a pathetic 90 or 100. The pic up is also equally poor at 0 to 60 in 17 and odd seconds. Nevertheless for the price of a high end hatch you get this behemoth with all metal body. Thats really impressive, also the vehicle is impervious to mild shocks and bumps although I wouldn't call it a SUV or an all terrain vehicle like how the company portrays it.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Amazingly IndianBolero is truly a vehicle made in India, made for Indians. It fulfils all the desires of common Indian family. Its solid, long, wide and high body structure, high ground clearance, good mileage, affordable price, easy to maintain, easily availability of spare parts and wide dealer and service network makes it most popular vehicle in its category. Especially in rural and semi-urban areas of the country Bolero is the best-selling vehicle in its category since beginning. It is truly 'paisa vasool' vehicle. Even its parental company Mahindra has tried to establish other models of SUV and MUV to compete it but no only a single vehicle of any Indian or foreign company got succeeded. In fact Bolero is a vehicle on which India can feel proud. Mother India would feel proud to be the motherland of such a vehicle which it standing on top position since its launch. Although there are several models of Bolero but 'Bolero Plus' is highest selling among them. The reason is simple; it can carry two extra passengers in comparison of normal Bolero, which supports big Indian family. The design of its rear row seats is made such a way that it can carry luggage under it. Its popularity can be determined with it that several hindi or local language songs has been created on it. Its parental company Mahindra is recognised by the name of Bolero. In fact, in its category the sale Bolero is more than rest of all brand vehicles. Not only in passenger vehicle segment but also in goods carries also 'Bolero Camper' is the best-selling vehicle in its category. 'Bolero Ambulance' is also serving the nation. Bolero is the living legend of Indian technology in the world. Its parental company Mahindra has made changes time to time in it, enabling Bolero to stand first in tough competition. Use of Mahindra latest MhaWk (CRDI technology based) engine, power steering, power breaks, power windows and air-conditioning are some instances. But above all, its simplicity makes it most popular vehicle in its category. Bolero is truly king of all terrains, no matter which type of road is and no problem if road is not available, nothing can stop Bolero. I salute Bolero from the core of heart.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
