The MG Gloster is priced between Rs 39.57 lakh for the entry-level Sharp variant and goes up to Rs 44.03 lakh for the top-spec Rs 44.03 lakh for the top-spec Savvy variant with 4WD. It comes in both 6- and 7-seater configurations as well as rear- and four-wheel drive versions. Prices of the 6-seater variants range between Rs 41.14 lakh and Rs 44.03 lakh. The 7-seater variants, on the other hand, range between Rs 39.57 lakh and Rs 44.03 lakh.

The MG Gloster comes in two broad variants: 

• Sharp 

• Savvy

Among these, only the Sharp variant gets an option of both 7-seats and 6-seats. The four-wheel-drive (4WD) option is available only to the fully loaded Savvy trims.

Which variant of MG Gloster is best?

The entry-level Sharp 2WD variant is the best variant of the Gloster. It comes loaded with amenities like a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker sound system, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Its safety features include six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, an electronic stability program (ESP), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

That said, if you want a more capable 4x4 option for off-road, the only option you are left with is the Savvy variant, which commands a considerable premium over the 4x2 variants.

The MG Gloster comes loaded with features to its gills. Highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch  digital driver’s display with analogue dials, a 12-way adjustable driver seat with memory, ventilation, heating and massage functions, and an 8-way electrically adjustable co-driver’s seat with a heating function. It is also equipped with wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps with cornering function and 3-zone auto AC. The MG Gloster comes with two engine options, the details of which are as follows:

• A 2-litre diesel turbo: It develops 161 PS and 373.5 Nm. This engine is offered with with two-wheel drive (rear-wheel-drive) and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

• A 2-litre diesel twin-turbo: It develops even more power at 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm, paired with 4WD (four-wheel-drive) and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

It features seven drive modes: Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Auto, and Rock.

MG Gloster Safety

The MG Gloster is yet to be crash-tested by either Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP and hence its crash safety rating is still unknown.

However, on the safety front, it comes with 6 airbags (as standard), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), disc brakes on all wheels, an electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including lane change assist, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.
