Price: The BMW iX is priced at Rs 1.40 crore (introductory prices ex-showroom).

Colour Options: You can get the BMW iX in seven colour options: Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Phytonic Blue, Storm Bay Metallic, Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect, Individual Aventurine Red Metallic, and Oxide Grey Metallic.

Electric Motor, Range and Battery Pack: The iX is equipped with a 105.2 kWh battery pack with a WLTP-claimed range of 635 km. It gets two electrical motors for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, producing 523 PS and 765 Nm.

Charging:

A 195 kW DC fast charger: 35 minutes (10-80 per cent)
A 50 kW DC fast charger: 97 minutes (10-80 per cent)
A 22 kW AC home charger: 5.5 hours (0-100 per cent)
A 11 kW AC home charger: 11 hours (0-100 per cent)

Features: BMW has equipped it with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen system, an 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety: Its safety net comprises a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and blind spot detection.

Rivals: The electric SUV locks horns with the Mercedes EQE SUV, Jaguar I-Pace, and Audi Q8 e-tron.

My New EV
Initially, we were bit skeptical about the iX because the design is a complete refresh from the original designs of BMWs but it looks aggresive and sporty in black. The interiors are flawless, minimalistic design, comfortable seats, full panaromic sunroof and the curved display. It has a good driving range of about 450 km on a single charge which is more than enough for us. We had taken the iX to Jaipur for a weekend getaway and the drive was simply amazing.

While it may not be for everyone, it certainly stands out. Interior: The cabin is a luxurious haven, dominated by a curved display that houses the infotainment system. Materials are top-notch, and the overall ambiance is sophisticated. However, some may find the minimalist approach a bit too stark.
