With the Indian car market getting overcrowded with the new and revamped car launches, Toyota Fortuner facelift is yet another addition to the long list of activities. Toyota Kirloskar Motors is gearing up to launch the new Toyota Fortuner anytime soon, though the official revelation on the launch date hasn’t yet been made. Toyota Fortuner has been captivating a large market share in the mid-level SUV segment, which the auto major hopes to aggravate with the launch of the 2012 Fortuner, especially with the two-wheel drive option.

The new SUV is reported to have undergone a major transition from the outgoing model adorning classier look falling in lines with the premium Toyota models like Toyota Prado and Toyota Land Cruiser. The front fascia of the new Fortuner is a total makeover with redesigned headlamps is much amplified in proportions. The grille in the front, as opposed to before, is flatter enhancing its beauty multi-fold. The chrome finish surrounding the grille purports the classy image further with the touch of illumination. Another strategy implemented by the manufacturer to ramp up the sales could come in the disguise of the two-wheel drive option for the entry-level variant with substantial price discount. However, the auto major might decide to carry forward the same 3.0 L D-4D common rail turbocharged and intercooled engine in the new version to offer a good mileage. The diesel engine will have the capacity to produce a peak power of 170 Bhp and superior torque output of 343 Nm.
