The two Tata SUVs offer more in terms of design, comfort, features and drive convenience
The facelifted Tata Harrier and Safari have recently been launched with a new design, improved safety and a load of new features. Both the 5-seater and 7-seater Tata SUVs compete in different segments, but share the same rival, the Mahindra XUV700 since it comes with the same seating options. Here, we look at some of the cool features found on the Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts, which you don’t get with the Mahindra SUV.
Bigger Touchscreen
The XUV700 comes with a dual-integrated 10.25-inch display, which became very popular at the time of its launch. Since then, a lot of other cars have come with this setup. While not featuring an integrated screen setup, the facelifted Tata Harrier and Safari do come with a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre console.
Ventilated seats
Both Tata SUVs and the XUV700 have dual-zone climate control for added convenience for the front passengers. But, the Harrier & Safari offer ventilation for front seats which is not offered on the Mahindra SUV. Also, the 6-seater variants of the Safari offer this feature for the 2nd row as well.

2nd Row Captain Seats
Talking about the Tata Safari, it offers a 6-seater variant which comes with captain seats in the 2nd row. Meanwhile, the three-row variants of the Mahindra XUV700 are strictly in a 7-seater configuration. 7-seater.
Powered Tail Gate
Another convenience feature added on the facelifted Tata Harrier & Safari is a powered tail gate with gesture control. This new feature makes accessing the boot easy and also works by sliding your leg under the boot.
4-way Electrically Adjustable Front Passenger Seat
While all three SUVs come with a 6-way powered driver seat with a memory function, the Harrier and Safari also offer 4-way powered front passenger seats. Additionally, the one in Safari has an electric Boss mode, which the rear passenger can use to move the front passenger seat.

Paddle Shifters
When talking about powertrains, the Mahindra XUV700 holds an advantage by offering a petrol engine alongside a diesel one. But, the Harrier and Safari, having only a diesel engine option, offer paddle shifters with the 6-speed automatic transmission to make the driving experience more convenient.
19-inch Alloy Wheels
All three SUVs come with 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels across their variants. But, the Tata SUVs feature 19-inch ones depending on the variant. While not the most functional feature advantage, it certainly adds to the exterior design and road presence of the facelifted Harrier and Safari.
Auto Dimming IRVM
Lastly, the Two Tata SUVs offer auto-dimming IRVM for better visibility while driving at night, which helps improve safety by not letting the driver get blinded by bright light coming from the car behind.
The new Tata Harrier is priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 26.44 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom) and the Tata Safari’s prices range from Rs 16.19 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs 14.03 lakh to Rs 26.57 lakh (ex-showroom).
