Hyundai has just displayed the all-new 2016 Tucson Crossover at the New York International Auto Show. The vehicle is most likely to make its Indian debut soon owing to the vast fan following it has. The new model is sportier in appearance and ditches the earlier butch appeal to a new classier elegant exterior.
The hexagonal grille is now a signature for Hyundai and looks like it has been carried from the Santa Fe SUV. The 2016 Tucson is longer and wider to increase interior cabin space for comfort and versatility. The cargo capacity has now been increased to 870 litres, an increase of 140 litres over the previous model, and the rear tailgate has been redesigned for ease of loading/unloading cargo.
A driver selectable all-wheel drive system will take care of difficult terrains, allowing torque split between front and rear wheels. A world first, shock-absorber mounting structure on the 2016 Tucson employs a dual-reinforcing panel rear wheelhouse design, which optimises panels that are prone to vibration, resulting in a 109 percent increase in rigidity, reduced road noise levels and ride and handling agility.
The new setup has been tweaked for more precise handling without sacrificing ride quality. On the inside a 5-inch colour LCD display takes centre stage with rear-view camera and touch-screen function easy operation. Yelp app has been optimised for Tucson’s 8-inch touch-screen which will help users search restaurants, shopping and more.
Once a restaurant is chosen, the navigation system can provide directions to the restaurant without address input by the occupants. Tucson will offer a powerful 405 watt, AM/FM/SiriusXM premium audio system with 8 speakers.
