BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics: BMW’s future car on display in New Delhi

Unveiled in India by Dr Andreas Schaaf, president BMW India and Member of Parliament and Cabin Minister for Heavy Industries, Praful Patel at Deutsche Motoren, the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics will be on display at new BMW Studio, Connaught Place in New Delhi till May 24.

The Efficient Dynamics concept car is developed on the basis of BMW ActiveHybrid technology that is capable of an acceleration of 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and could reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The Efficient Dynamicshas the performance capability of BMW M-Division sportscar coupled with low fuel consumption diesel hybrid capability. It is a 1.24 meters 2x2 seater car with a drag coefficient of 0.22 cd that makes it the most dynamic and fuel efficient car that delivers an average of 26.5 kilometres/litre. Despite being high on performance, this car is low on emissions and possesses CO2 emission rating of 99 grams per kilometer.

BMW has introduced latest brake energy regeneration system that powers 98 lithium polymer batteries in the sporty. With the help of the electrical power, the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics can go upto 50 kilometres while it can go upto 700 kilometers without refueling.The BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics features including an efficient air vent control system keeps the car cool while a thermostatic generator is a new generation thermal to electric conversion technologies in place in the car. The three-cylinder turbo diesel engine produces 356 hp power and peak torque of 590 lb/ft that is powerful enough to steer this sleek car through.

The BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics price is also unknown as it is still undeclared. However, it will be a long wait since the car christened as BMW i8 is expected to on the streets in 2013.
