The most economic crossover from BMW India, the X1 is likely to be up for a facelift in 2013. The BMW X1 facelift, which was recently spotted confirms the same. The German luxury car manufacturer had launched its cheapest crossover back in 2009 to offer BMW cars within the reach of elite Indians. This has turned out to be a success than the auto major had anticipated. Now, the luxury car manufacturer finds it the right time to spruce up the image of the car a bit to gear up to the growing competition.

That is exactly what can be expected from the 2013 BMW X1 facelift. The front and rear bumper is where the modifications can be focused at, to give a new look to the car. The redesigned headlamps are also on the cards. However, its too early to speculate any other changes on the car including the new BMW X1 price. At the moment, the BMW X1 crossover is offered in both petrol and diesel trims. The 2.0 L petrol and diesel engines set the car on motion with impressive peak power and torque output. Now, the recent pact between the Toyota and BMW might put the SUV in a different light. Flying rumours from here and there carry some exciting news on the new BMW X1 SUV. Apparently, a hybrid engine is also being considered for the SUV.

But one should not consider the rumours too strongly unless heard straight from the horse’s mouth. This is exactly the two leading car manufacturers had at their mind while going through the deal. Use of hybrid engine technology from Toyota Motor Corp. in the BMW cars and Toyota Motors on the other hand expects help from the BMW with their expertise in the diesel engine technology. Moreover, two engines with varied capacities of 1.6 L and 2.0 L are believed to be shared with the Japanese car manufacturer. More fuel efficiency and low emission standards are the areas of focus where they hope to see more improvement.
