It has been more than a year that Indian auto market is showing an exponential growth but now at a adding concern to the automobile manufacturers, the largest growing market is showing signs of slowdown. Even the attractive offers and schemes introduced by the Auto companies could not put a attract the prospective Indian buyers.
The dealers claim that the traffic of prospective buyers has been showing a reduction since 20 days. The experts view this problem as a result of not so profitable offers given by car manufacturers this year and also the major reason is that the sales was on the height during the festive season and major purchasing has been already completed.
Among the present offers in car market Maruti Alto is getting a rebate up to Rs 20,000 and Maruti Suzuki WagonR getting up to Rs 12,000 but these figures are lower as against that of last year. Dealers say that this is the maximum discount available in market which is still less than that of 2009 December offers. Last year many models from Maruti were given a discount up to Rs 38,000.
At present the Indian Auto market is growing at a rate of 30% and with that it is giving a tough challenge to China. The auto dealers in country are still not hoping that the conditions will come back to normal as many automobile manufacturers have declared a price rice on their models for coming year. This is further going to affect the market sales.
The dealers are expecting a little improved sales by the end of this month as many customers prefer to bring their new car home in a new year. This fiscal year, the Indian car market showed a growth of 32% which is equal to 12.66 lakh units till November. Though the sales have been increasing year by year, but the sales in terms of month performance is showing a recognisable fall. He November sales for example were lesser than that of the October sales though it included a great festive season as well. Limited supply of components and parts are other major reason towards this fall. The experts also says that because customers want one year additional advantage in resale value of their cars, they avoid buying it in December thus results in lowered sales.
