The Jagdish Khattar-promoted multibrand automobile services company Carnation Auto, intends to introduce a new useful concept for the used cars. In fact, this auto company is planning to soon introduce  a virtual marketplace for the cars that have been used earlier. The auto company plans to do this during the first quarter of the coming fiscal year. This business portal meant specially for the used cars will also act as a promotional site for the auto solutions of the company. This web portal will be designed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the IT solution provider. It will be supplemented by the various hubs of Carnation Auto.

Carnation Auto chairman and managing director Jagdish Khattar stated that they will be working  on the ‘clicks and mortar’ model. The company will also sell its services and products on the Web and also from the physical locations. Carnation Auto intends to become the biggest ‘aggregator’ of used cars. The company plans to systematize and organize this unsystematic and unorganized sector of used cars, added Khattar. He further added that the other players of this segment like Maruti’s True Value or M&M’s First Choice and several others are contributing merely 11% of the total sales of this segment. Khattar also commented that Carnation Auto wants transparency in the business of used cars. In cases, like those of repossessed cars after loan defaults, the agents and employees of that finance company or bank form cartel. Later on they auction the four-wheeler at quite low cost. He said that Carnation Auto will support and help these institutions in the certification of cars so that they may get the correct market value.

Apart from these plans, Carnation Auto is also planning to step into the business of new cars. For the companies which are searching for prospective customers, the Carnation Auto will be acting as a lead provider. Khattar opined that Carnation will fix a particular amount of fee for providing car companies lead generated through the network of Carnation hubs and portals. In this way, the company will  facilitate other companies in acquiring customers.
