Confirmed: Skoda Rapid to sizzle Indian shores this November

Skoda Rapid is one of the most anticipated cars by Skoda today. Rumor has it that this new sedan by Skoda will hit the Indian shores by the month of November 2011. However, the exact date of launch hasn’t been announced yet, but the official statement will be given out soon. Recently, some photo shots of Skoda Rapid emerged on the internet and it showed clearly that the major inspiration of Skoda Rapid is taken from Volkswagen Vento, specially the interiors, such as the gauges, audio buttons, switches, and dashboard and climate control.

Skoda Rapid sedan also features 4 spoke steering wheel, which is pretty similar to Skoda Fabia and Skoda Laura. Just like Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid will also come with a lever, which will be used to adjust front passenger seat from the back. It is very much evident from the leaked images of Skoda Rapid sedan that the exteriors of this car such as the fogs, grille and the headlights have a striking similarity to Skoda Fabia. The side view of Skoda Rapid is quite like Volkswagen Vento; however the bonnet is a bit longer than VW Vento. Skoda Rapid does look like a very inspired car.

The exteriors are surely the major highlight of the car, as it is the perfect amalgamation of style and technicalities. The wheel arches have been beautifully executed, the back of the car is however a bit different from Volkswagen Vento. This time around, Skoda India has placed in a “C” motif in tail lights, the region just near the number plate has also been modified and a new and more carved bumper is present as well. Besides the inspiration taken from Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid will give a tough fight to other cars in India, such as Maruti Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios, Honda City, Fiat Linea, Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta. As far as the pricing details of Skoda Rapid is concerned, it has not been announced yet, but one could expect that the price tag of the new Skoda Rapid sedan will be kept competitive in order to boost up sales in the country.
