The camouflaged test mule of the Hyryder suggests that it will sport a different design to distinguish it from the current 5-seater version
The Toyota Hyryder 7-seater, which is basically the rebadged counterpart of the upcoming 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara, was first spotted testing in Bengaluru, Karnataka. At that time, we could only catch a glimpse of its rear and side profile. Now, we’ve got some more angles of the same camouflaged test mule which gives us an idea of its front design Let’s take a closer look at what’s been spotted this time around.
What’s Spotted New?
Though the spy shots are not of the best quality, we could still discern some design touches. We can notice the sleek LED DRLs, which look reminiscent of the 5-seater version. The headlights are placed below and in a boxy housing. It could also have an updated grille with tweaked airdams and a redesigned bumper to set it apart from the standard Hyryder.

We’ve previously seen the side and rear design of this test mule as well. The silhouette is an enlarged version of the existing Hyryder for accommodating rear passengers in the third row. The alloy wheels design has also been updated with a new design. Sleek LED tail lights are the major talking point at the rear and they are expected to be a full-width connected unit.
Expected Features & Safety
While the interior of the upcoming 7-seater SUV remains under wraps, it’s likely that Toyota will equip it with a few extra features to distinguish it from the 5-seater version. The highlights of which could be a larger touchscreen infotainment, a larger digital driver’s display, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof as well as a head-up display (HUD).
On the safety front, it will likely include six airbags offered as standard, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake with auto hold, and possibly ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features too.
Powertrain
The current Toyota Hyryder is equipped with three powertrain configurations specifications of which have been mentioned below. While the upcoming Hyryder 7-seater’s specifications are not revealed yet, it remains to be seen if Toyota offers the same or different engine options.
