Cyrus Mistry is Tata Motors' new Boss as Ratan Tata Steps Down

The Board of Directors of Tata Motors yesterday announced the appointment of Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry as the Chairman of the Board with effect from December 28, 2012, on the retirement of Mr. Ratan N. Tata. The Board conferred on Mr. Tata the honorary title of Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Mistry was inducted as Deputy chariman of the company's board earlier, he has also been serving on the board of Tata Sons since 2006, and in November 2011 was appointed successor to Mr. Tata, who was serving the company since 1962 and leading the company since 1991. Mr. Tata who has been an inspiration to all the entrepreneurs around the world, took Tata Motors to another level, acquisition of British luxury marque Jaguar Land Rover happened under his supreme leader ship.
And it was all his greater leading and visionary entrepreneurship skills which got him many prestigious awards including Padma Bhushan, Padhma Vibhushan and several business awards throughout his career. Previous month, Ratan Tata left the Tata Global Beverages' Chairman post for Mr. Cyrus P. Mystry, who was inducted into the Indian hotels company's board. Mr. Mistry was also given the deputy chairman positions to lead Tata group's other company's including Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Consultancy Services. Mr. Mistry is the son of Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, the construction big shot. Pallonji is the single largest shareholder in Tata Sons having an 18.5 per cent stake.
